Andrea Radrizzani's plea for Leeds United fans to stay home is heartfelt

The message to Leeds United fans is a simple one: please stay at home because if you don’t, people could be killed.

Said with heartfelt appreciation of everything the fans have been through in recent years, Andrea Radrizzani today reassures fans that – “We hear you and we feel you in every moment. We know how important the club is to the community. But – please – stay at home.”

His words, penned in a letter to fans on the cover of today’s YEP, speak volumes about the club in his image: it is an ambitious club; a capable club; a proud and historic club; but most importantly it is a compassionate club that has always cared about looking after its own.

Of course Leeds United as a club cannot say this publicly, but it is clearly fearful of its fans falling into the same trap that Liverpool fans fell into when they let their emotions get the better of them recently.

Everybody in this great city wants Leeds United to reach the promised land – but we must not endanger lives in the process. #ALAW
