New walkway at Leeds nature reserve

The new boardwalk and bridge at Skelton Grange environment centre is expecting plenty of footfall.

The new features at the TCV (The Conservation Volunteers) site at Stourton have sprung up through hard work by volunteers and help from the Veolia Environmental Trust’s Landfill Communities Fund. The walkway has opened just ahead of the popular ‘A Winter’s Trail’ events, which run from December 19 to 21. Project officer Toby Roberts said: “We chose to work in oak and recycled plastic so that the structures will last a long time, and will enjoyed be by thousands of visitors.”
