Music and magic to help older people in south Leeds celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 90th

A right royal knees up is set to give south Leeds residents the chance to mark the Queen's 90th birthday in style.

The Hunslet Club, in Hillidge Road, will host an action-packed event organised by the Holbeck Elderly Aid (HEA) charity on Friday June 10 from 7pm.

The event will entertain 130 service users and supporters with the Songsational singing group, a magician, buffet and raffle.

Matthew Springthorpe, HEA’s activities coordinator, said: “A lot of older people in the community have shared their life events and experiences with Queen Elizabeth II and they would like to celebrate her 90th birthday accordingly.

“As a staff team, we thought that this would be an evening to remember.”
