A motorbike rider has been taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Leeds.

It happened at about 2.45pm today (Tuesday June 15) at the junction of Burley Road and Cardigan Road.

Police were called to a report of a crash involving a bus and a motorcycle.

The motorcycle rider, a man in his twenties, has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Police have closed the junction while an investigation is carried out at the scene.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
