Morley fire: Huge blaze consumes whole commercial building

A fire broke out at a commercial building in Leeds last night (Thursday).

Fire services were called to the fire at the premises on Wesley Street in Morley at around 7.15pm on Thursday evening.

Three engines attended including one each from Morley and Dewsbury and the aerial ladder platform from Leeds fire station.

The full building fire was tackled by crews who used two large jets and the aerial ladder platform.

They left the scene at around 9.50pm.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 19:14 hours yesterday, Thursday 18 March, to reports of a fire in a commercial premises on Wesley Street, Morley.

"Three fire engines attended, one each from Morley and Dewsbury fire stations and the aerial ladder platform from Leeds Fire Station.

"Crews used two large jets and the ALP to tackle the fire which involved 100% of the building.

"Crews left at 21.48 hours."
