A man has been taken to hospital after falling from a bridge over Armley Gyratory in Leeds.

The road under the bridge was closed in both directions while emergency crews attended the scene.

The man is being treated in hospital for leg injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Enquiries remain ongoing at the scene and police apologise for the disruption to motorists."

There is heavy traffic in the city centre and First Bus services 86, 72, X6 and 11 are being diverted.
