Man remanded in custody over stabbing on one of main roads into Leeds

A man has appeared in court charged over a stabbing on one of the main commuter routes into Leeds which left a man fighting for life.

Davern Pinnock, 19, of Jade Place, Fartown, Huddersfield, made a brief appearance at Leeds Magistrates’ Court today after a 32-year-old man was stabbed in the chest in Bradford Road, Pudsey.

Police were called after the victim arrived at hospital seriously injured on Sunday night. He remains in a critical condition.

Investigations at the scene of the attack, near Dawsons Corner roundabout, and the nearby Asda petrol station – where the victim’s car was found – caused disruption for traffic on Monday morning.

Pinnock is charged with wounding with intent, possession of a knife and driving without insurance in relation to the incident.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on November 5.
