Police are appealing for witnesses after the man was knocked down by on Woodhouse Street at around 11.20am.
Insp Carlton Young of West Yorkshire Police said: “A male has been knocked down by a vehicle that has made off from the scene.
“He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be serious.”
Police believe the car was a silver Audi A3. Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101.
