Man dies after stabbing near police station

A MAN has died after being stabbed in Sheffield city centre.

The 45-year-old suffered stab wounds to his upper chest in the attack, which happened near Snig Hill police station on Friday afternoon. He was taken to the city’s Northern General Hospital but died yesterday.

A 39-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm in relation to the incident while an 18-year-old man has been charged with assisting offenders.

They appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Monday, with the older man being remanded in custody and the teenager given conditional bail.

Police yesterday revealed that a third man, aged 18, had been arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders.
