Man charged with attempted murder over Leeds shooting

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Leeds.

Toyan Issac, 29, from Meanwood, is due to appear before magistrates in the city this morning.

He has also been charged with firearms offences relating to the shooting, which happened at the Nitetrax nightclub on Chapeltown Road in the early hours of Monday.

A 42-year-old man suffered a gunshot injury in the incident and was taken to hospital, where his condition was said to be stable.

Police today said a 47-year-old man from the West Midlands had also been arrested in connection with the shooting and was in custody.

Three males, aged 17, 20 and 21, remain on bail after being arrested in connection with a separate incident on Sunday evening when a 19-year-old man was shot and injured on Chapeltown Road.
