Man arrested over Leeds rape
A man has been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault on a woman in Leeds city centre yesterday.
The 57-year-old man, from Leeds, was arrested this morning on a bus in the Greengates area of Bradford.
He has been taken back to custody in Leeds.
He has been arrested on suspicion of rape in connection with an incident involving a 36-year-old woman near The Palace pub, in Kirkgate, Leeds, shortly before 6am yesterday.
Police said the arrest followed an appeal for information last night which generated a significant response.
