Ambulance Service Statement:

 Yorkshire Ambulance Service: "Yorkshire Ambulance Service received an emergency call just after 1.20pm this afternoon to an incident involving a man who had been injured at Flamingo Land Resort in North Yorkshire.

“Two ambulances and an air ambulance were dispatched to the scene and the patient was flown to hospital for further care.”

Ashleigh Logan told the Yorkshire Evening Post: "I was standing in the queue for Kumali which opened very late (due to staff being diverted to the incident) when I saw the air ambulance fly over.

"I then walked up bu the dino rollercoaster and it was all fenced off and there are a few police / CSI vans about and a white tent has been put up next to the ride

North Yorkshire Police statement:

 At around 1.30pm on 5 August 2020, North Yorkshire Police were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to an industrial incident at Flamingo Land Resort near Pickering. A member of maintenance staff suffered leg injuries while working on a ride. The man was airlifted to hospital by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Although serious, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The Health and Safety Executive have been informed.
