Little boy gets new signed Leeds United programme after online appeal over lost memento

The parents of little Leeds United fan Harry, aged six, had urged the city to help track down a signed matchday programme from last Saturday's win over Sheffield Wednesday after Harry accidentally left it in the back of a taxi following the 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.

On Sunday, Paul and wife Michelle had asked the YEP and Facebook group Leedsface to find the programme.

Paul said: "What makes this worse is Harry is disabled and can't do things normal boys can do due to his Cerebral Palsy so this is something that he loves doing because it makes him feel normal.

"Chris Wood is his hero so when he got man of the match and knew he had the opportunity to collect his signature he was, well let's just say somewhat excited.

"He's determined to collect all the teams autographs including Garry Monk (don't know how he's going to do that haha) and this has set the poor little fella back now he's had tears again."

After the appeal was shared on the Yorkshire Evening Post and on Facebook group Leedsface, Leeds United then got in touch with the family to organise a replacement signed programme.

The original was signed by hero striker Chris Wood - and the new programme has been signed by the entire team.

The boy's dad Paul Smith said: "I'd just like to thank all at YEP for the online story you did for my little boy Harry.

"Everything has turned out good thanks to Stix Lockwood at Elland Road and Harry today received a signed program by all of the players and a signed photograph. Thanks again YEP"
