Leess village garage sale returns

The event, which is usually organised by local primary schools Calverley Parkside and Calverley C of E Primary, is this year being taken over by Calverley Village Guide Association (CVGA).
The group is staging the event in an attempt to raise much-needed funds to repair their guide hut and so be able to keep on running Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in the village.

The garage sale takes place on Saturday, April 28 and runs from 11am-3pm.
The day will see over a hundred residents opening up their garages, gardens and driveways to sell a whole host of items, including bikes, clothes, toys, furniture and electrical goods.
There will also be homemade crafts and baked goods on sale.
Over the past 100 years, it is estimated that over 3,000 girls and young women have been a part of guiding within Calverley.

“Although we have managed to raise amounts over the years to make small repairs, we now need to undertake a major refurbishment of the hut.
“Spring is the time we all traditionally clean up and clear out, and this event is incredibly easy to take part in.”
