Jacqui said: “I can’t explain the feeling I had when they pulled out my cheque for £25,000. I thought my heart was going to stop – I felt total elation and disbelief. I have never won anything like this before – it is just completely unbelievable.

“When you open the envelope to see a life-changing £25,000, no words can describe it. I was speechless for about five minutes.

“My daughter is travelling at the minute and this on her last stop before she comes back. I think I’ll give her a little bit of money and tell her to travel a bit more

“If anyone doesn’t play - I would tell people to start playing straight away.”

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Judie McCourt, said: “I’ve never seen anyone left as speechless as Jacqui. It was absolutely lovely visiting her and delivering the fabulous news. There is nothing like meeting one of our players when they have won such a fantastic amount of money.”

Her win comes as Leeds was named as one of the luckiest places for people playing the National Lottery.

The city’s postcodes have made it on to The National Lottery’s rich list after the latest figures show 47 people have been made millionaires in the area since The National Lottery began – equating to more than two millionaires being made every single year.
