Leeds supertots dress up for Tommy's

Hundreds of budding young superheroes donned their capes to raise money for a life changing baby charity.

The fundraising team from Baby Sensory North Leeds dressed up to raise funds for Tommy’s, which funds vital research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage.

Around 200 babies have taken part in classes at Old Leo’s Rugby Club, Guiseley, Tumble Town Adventure Play, and The School of Philosophy, raising more than £2,500 in just a matter of days.

Director Kate Johnson said: “This Superhero Sensathon is an enormously fun event that encourages parents and pre-schoolers to tap in to their inner Batman and raise funds for the research work Tommy’s pioneers into the causes and prevention of miscarriage, stillbirth and premature births.

“Everybody deserves to have a healthy baby. This research is so important.”

The Sensathon is also supported by Arla Big Milk.

Jane Brewin, chief executive of Tommy’s, said: “Sensathon and is a great way for mums and dads to involve their little ones in a good cause. Tommy’s relies on the generosity and hard work of its supporters like Baby Sensory to continue its pioneering research to prevent pregnancy complications. We hope everyone taking part had a super time!”
