Leeds Sports Awards 2019: New Leeds Cares category celebrating keeping active
And today the YEP can reveal that next year’s Leeds Sports Awards will now do just that.

Hide AdBacked by the YEP, it aims to draw attention to the importance of getting people physically active across the city.
The new category takes its name from Leeds Cares, the charity formerly known as the Leeds Hospital Charitable Foundation, which supports the city’s hospitals and their wards.
David Welch, chief executive of Leeds Cares, said: “As the charity driving positive change in health and wellbeing in Leeds and beyond, we’re so excited to be part of the Leeds Sports Awards in 2019. By recognising people in our community who have done something exceptional in getting people active, we can encourage and motivate more people to get moving enabling healthier and more fulfilling lives.”
Nominations do not just need to be focused on sport - and are open to healthcare staff, special individuals or even groups that go the extra mile in the interests of promoting fitness in Leeds. The YEP-backed awards, run by Sport Leeds, return to the First Direct Arena on February 28.
