Leeds Road closure: Emergency services called to Cross Gates after cyclist falls from bike in 'medical episode'

Emergency services were called to reports that a man had fallen from a bike today (Thursday) in Leeds - affecting traffic across the city.

Police and ambulance services attended Barwick Road in Cross Gates today to a report that a man had fallen from a bike.

He is believed to have suffered a medical episode.

The road was closed while the incident was ongoing.

Leeds Road was also closed in both directions between Smeaton Approach in Stanks and Main Street in Scholes, according to AA traffic maps.

The traffic map also reported that the incident happened at around midday.

The full West Yorkshire Police statement said: "Emergency services attended at Barwick Road, Crossgates to a report a male had fallen from a pedal cycle.

"Police and ambulance services attended and located a male who it is believed had suffered a medical episode.

"The road was closed while the incident was ongoing."
