And now the restaurant, which opened its doors in 1996, is marking a milestone after celebrating its 250,000th booking since opening.

Locals Duncan and Allison Innes, who are regulars at the south Leeds eatery, made the milestone booking.

And to celebrate the occasion they were treated to a celebratory three-course banquet.

Mr Innes, 54, said: “We love dining at Tingley Balti House and have visited hundreds of times over the past 22 years.

“We still feel to be made as welcome now as we did back in 1996.”

Balti House owner Rob Rahman said he regards many of his customers as his friends and has enjoyed watching them grow up.

He said: “I still serve customers now who first walked through the door 22 years ago, many of whom I now regard as my friends.
