Leeds recommends: Street food stalls

Street food is a huge dining trend to hit the UK, and Leeds is at the forefront. With the summer festival season in full swing, here are the best of the city's travelling food vendors to check out.

Martin Phipps. Bangwok on Sovereign Place is a good lunch stop. Not a stall as such but a fast food-to-go place with a great Thai menu.

Jenny Thomas. Rola Wala in Trinity Centre. Indian food, and you walk down the counter choosing the ingredients you want - it’s a bit like being at Subway, but much nicer!

Charlotte Haizelden. Dough Boys pizza in the Belgrave Music Hall. It’s yummy.

Alexia Murray. Bundobust, Indian street food from a bar.

Luke Reeder. If you like Moroccan, Middle Eastern and north African snacks, pop into the indoor market and go to Cafe Moor. The stall itself is beautifully presented.

Abigail Akbar. Fish& often travel around in their van and are sometimes in the Belgrave too. Lovely seafood dishes including a crab and lobster burger.

Jamie Elgood. The Pizza Bus. It’s the pizza that’s served in Sela Bar, but they now have a van and go round the festivals and street parties.

Jeff Mayes. Madeleine’s Express, a cute Citroen van that sells baked goods and cakes. I’d recommend their brownies.

Andy Peck. The Ox Club - steak and chips in a box. Go to the Belgrave to find them.

Hannah Bryan. The Northern Bloc ice cream van tours the festivals - it’s a cute vintage van and the flavours are great, nothing like a Mr Whippy!

Lara Weir. Patty Smith’s burgers are the best. There’s a lot of competition in Leeds for gourmet burgers but I think theirs are unique.

Toby Hammond. Manjit’s Kitchen is the best Indian food van, and it’s mostly vegetarian. The van is also a converted horsebox so it’s easy to spot!

Robbie Grayling. Fat Annie’s for hot dogs. Good selection of unusual sausages, some with the fillings actually inside the sausage.

Alice Kingham. Pho in Trinity Kitchen, spring rolls are good.

Tiffany Carter. Nom Deli, near Headrow, is great for Vietnamese takeaway food-to-go. Snack options and larger meals too.

Lydia Blackwood. The cookie dough stand in Trinity is genius.

Georgia Humphreys. The Golden Balls Kitchen is great for vegetarian food with an Italian twist.

Vaseem Ahmed. Nasi Lemak is good for Malay food. Owned by a Malaysian so the flavours are really authentic.

James Harvey. I know Zaap is a sit-down place, but it serves market-style street food and it’s meant to look like a Thai market. Great atmosphere and amazing beer.

Tim Adebole. Duck n’ Roll. Never liked duck till I discovered this stall, but their dishes are delicious and there’s a real variety. The foie gras burger is excellent and not as extravagant as it sounds, and the hot duck pastrami sandwich is another favourite.
