Leeds recommends: Best streets

Martin Walker. Horsforth Town Street - independent pubs/bars/cafes, independent shops, independent restaurants/takeaways, farmers market (once a month), Horsforth Walk of Art (part of the event), Horsforth Festival route, public transport terminus.

Jamie Wood. Elland Road, home of Leeds United!

Marc Andrew Blackburn. Elland Road is the only place for us.

Alexander Toon. Elland Road, easy.

Charles Kingston. Any without potholes!

James Harris. Yeadon High Street.

Jill Rodgers. Town Street, Horsforth.

Rick Poppa. Street Lane in Roundhay of course - home to bars, restaurants, shops, pubs, homes and near to Roundhay park, one of Leeds’ best assets.

Harriet Woods. Otley Road in Headingley - it’s a good hub and always really buzzing. Lots of cool cafes to hang out in.

Mike Berry. Harrogate Road, the stretch from Chapel Allerton to Moortown. So many local businesses are based here and there’s such a variety of shops, cafes, bars and other services.

Arfran Masood. Chapeltown Road. Good community spirit, and you can buy foods from all over the world. The Caribbean supermarkets are interesting to browse.

Leah Oliver. Stainbeck Lane in Chapel Allerton - it’s the golden mile! Several good bars and restaurants in close proximity to each other, and a lovely spot for people watching. A really ambient street.

Sue Rayner. You can’t beat the cosmopolitan feel of Chapeltown Road - you’ll always see people you know and it’s a really sociable street.

Mark Dexter. Street Lane is an attractive street and it’s lively but also welcoming. So many good places to sit and watch the world go by.

Ali Laing. Briggate - if you love shopping it’s the place to be. So much better as a pedestrianised street than when traffic used it in the past.

Louise Manning. Do the arcades count? Victoria Quarter is lovely and I like the vintage independents and quirkiness of the Grand Arcade.

Tom Kale. A hidden gem but Shaftesbury Avenue in Roundhay - I love the architecture of the Victorian properties and the gardens are beautiful.

Matthew Hart. Call Lane - best for bars and great for a night out!

Alicia Myers. Town Street in Farsley is really nice now - a lot of shops and cafes have opened in the last few years and there’s a buzz to it.

Jack Farrell. Queen Street in Morley - my hometown so I always have fond memories of going there as a child!

Margot Ward. Victoria Road in Headingley - there are some lovely old houses there, although it is very studentified. Nice bars too.

Dean Axon. The Hawthorns in Chapel Allerton - good community spirit and friendly residents.
