Leeds primary school win national maths challenge
Key Stage Two pupils from Whingate Primary School in Armley have proved their number-crunching abilities by winning a national maths competition.
The numerical whizzes came first out of 452 British schools competing in the Mathletics Numeracy Challenge.
The team of 234 youngsters correctly answered over 492,000 questions in just two weeks, ending up with a points haul of 10,959.
Even more impressively, the mathletes collected most of their points outside of lesson time, logging on in lunch breaks, at home and during breakfast and after-school clubs.
