Leeds nostalgia: Strong local ladies
In 1966 we photographed former suffragette Mrs. Leonora Cohen at the site of the Barnbow Munitions Factory where she had helped injured women after the terrible 1916 explosion.
82 year old former Gaiety Girl Ruby Miller entertained everybody at Adel in 1971 just before her 82nd birthday and that pillar of Leeds Labour Alice Bacon was photographed with her ministerial dispatch box in 1970 (3).
