Leeds mortgage manager Claire scoops prestigious national award

Claire Richardson has been crowned overall winner of the Annual Excellence in Action awards at Leeds Building Society. This honour goes to the Society colleague who has consistently excelled throughout the year and performed at a level beyond their role.

Claire, who is the Society’s Mortgage Lending Processing Manager, was chosen as overall winner from among the seven category winners. She also received the ‘Most Inspirational Colleague’ award.

Claire was nominated by all her team leaders for the active role she plays in the department’s working groups and her dedication to developing the skills of other colleagues.

Her willingness to take responsibility for activities outside her remit was also highlighted as a major reason for the nomination.

The Society’s Annual Excellence in Action award is open to all colleagues below Head of Department level, more than 1,300 in total.

Yvonne Langley-Brook, Head of Mortgage Lending, said: “Everyone in our department benefits from having Claire as part of the team. She is a great role model, provides support and guidance without fuss or drama and will always be there when needed.

Claire said: “I feel very lucky and proud to be part both of an amazing team in Mortgage Lending and of such a great business as Leeds Building Society.

“I am totally overwhelmed and privileged to have been recognised for the award, and would like to thank everyone for supporting me during the 14 years I have been at the Society and look forward to many more years.”
