According to a survey by online comparison site Moneyexpert.com, households in Leeds have a measly average of 75 lights up for Christmas compared to the national average of 131.
Only Birmingham was ranked as less Christmassy than Leeds, with an average 71 lights per household.
But Leeds residents could have the right idea, saving thousands of pounds over Christmas by cutting back on lights.
The survey found that festive light displays are likely to cost households a total of £222million extra on electricity bills over the Christmas period.
More and more families are putting up light displays outside their home, with one in five lighting up the front of their house this year.
And some houses in Leeds have enough lights for the whole region, boasting impressive Christmas displays which go above and beyond to spread the Christmas cheer.
MoneyExpert.com is running a competition to find the best displays in Britain for a chance to win a cash prize and help to reduce the sting of December’s electricity bill.
