Leeds art sale backs hospice again

An annual art exhibition that has raised thousands of pounds for St Gemma's Hospice will return to the city next month.

The Leeds Art Exhibition and Sale, which is celebrating its 17th anniversary, has raised a massive £280,000 over the years towards patient care at the Moortown facility.

This year’s exhibition opens at The Grammar School at Leeds on October 26.

Visitors will be able to browse more than 900 pieces of art and photography by professional and emerging artists, with prices ranging from £20 to £900. They can also enjoy refreshments at the onsite art cafe.

Charlotte Anderson-Hughes, event organiser, said: “It’s so fantastic that the exhibition has reached this wonderful milestone in its fundraising, which is the result of the kind support from the Leeds community for the hospice. We are thoroughly looking forward to this year’s event and many more in the future.”

The 2017 event, which has been sponsored by Michael Lewin Solicitors for the second year, will be open from 10am to 6pm on October 26 to 28 and from 10am to 4pm on October 29. Entry is £3.
