Peter Marks, Deltic Group chief executive said: “Young people are drinking less alcohol than the older generations, but they’re still going out just as much and enjoying themselves in a club, bar or pub. It’s more about creating a fantastic night out. It is fantastic to see the January pay weekend remains a key event in the late-night sector with many choosing to spend it in pubs, bars and clubs.”

The survey also revealed that women were better at sticking to the Dry January challenge lasting 14 days compared to men who only stuck to it for 11 days instead.
