Kirkstall Road closed near Leeds city centre after serious crash leaves woman injured

It happened at about 10.30am on Kirkstall Road near Leeds Fire Station.

Police believe a female pedestrian was hit by a lorry.

She has been taken to hospital for treatment but her condition is not yet known.

West Yorkshire Police were called to the scene of the crash and have cordoned off a large area of Kirkstall Road.

The outbound carriageway is closed between A58(M) Leeds Inner Ring Road and Studio Road.

Traffic travelling towards Kirkstall is unable to pass the scene and buses are using a diversion.

First Bus services 33 and 34 are diverting via West Street, Burley Road and Willow Road until further notice.
