The fire on the first floor of the detached two-storey property on Stonebridge Avenue, Farnley, spread to the roof.

A fire investigation officer is looking into the cause of the fire just after 8pm last night. West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said "no persons or injuries" were involved in the incident.

There were no working smoke detectors.

Crews from Stanningley and Bradford used a hose reel and large jet to put the fire out.
