Gun fired at parked car overnight in Leeds

A gun was fired at a parked car in Leeds overnight yesterday (Thursday).

Police are searching for the culprits after forensic examinations confirmed a bullet hit the unoccupied parked car in Tong Way, Farnley.

The firearm discharge happened sometime between 8pm on Thursday and 6am this morning (Friday).

Detective Chief Inspector Jaz Khan, of Protective Services Crime, said: "Our officers have been carrying out forensic examinations into this incident and our enquiries remain ongoing.  

"I would appeal for anyone who saw any vehicles of any make or model that they didn't recognise driving in the area between the times stated, to please get in contact with police.  

"Equally, I would appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to also get in touch, as they may have information valuable to the investigation." 

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact the Protective Services Crime Unit via 101, quoting log number 201 of March 17.
