Police have issued a statement after a three-car crash in Leeds left a person hospitalised with "whiplash" injuries.

The incident, on Gledhow Valley Road close to the junction with Harehills Avenue, was reported shortly before 5pm yesterday (August 15).

It prompted a significant response, with pictures showing emergency service workers arriving at the scene in Roundhay.

The ambulance survey confirmed that two other patients had to be checked over, but did not need to go to hospital.

In a statement issued today, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “Occupants of all the vehicles were checked over by paramedics at the scene with one driver taken to hospital with whiplash-type injuries.”
