Ghost-ly spectacle on the Woodkirk stage

Talented dramatists from Woodkirk Academy are excitedly preparing for the opening night of their latest production.

The student actors (pictured) are performing Ghost for their annual musical from March 15-19, and the local community are invited to watch.

The show is technically challenging, with the cast performing live magic tricks while the crew have prepared more than 60 video projections.

Staff and students even spent a weekend rehearsing together at York Racecourse as they prepared to tell the story of main characters’ Sam and Molly’s romance, based on the film. The track list includes the classic Unchained Melody and other show-stoppers, with live backing music from Woodkirk students.

The school’s productions are known locally for their high standards and the young cast have an excellent reputation.

Curtains-up each evening is at 7pm. Tickets are available from the academy reception and are priced at £9.50 for adults and £6 for concessions.
