Firefighters called to well-known takeaway in Leeds to tackle blaze

Firefighters have been tackling a blaze in a well-known takeaway in north Leeds.

They were alerted to a fire at Cantors Fish Bar in Chapeltown just after 11am on Saturday morning.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews from Leeds Station and Moortown attended the fire, which had spread from a store room into the kitchen of the takeaway.

One man was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

The fire was extinguished just before 1pm and all fire crews have now left the takeaway.
