Firefighters called to The Headrow after water leak sparks smoke alert

Firefighters closed part of The Headrow this morning (Friday) after reports of smoke in a building.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) were called to the city centre shortly before 9am after someone raised the alarm about smoke coming from the building close to Foley's Tap House.

One fire engine from Hunslet and two from Leeds went to the scene.

Firefighters found that there was no fire, but there was a water leak from several separate water supplies.
