Firefighters called to chip pan fire in Leeds suburb

Firefighters were called to a Leeds suburb to put out a chip pan fire.

Crews from Otley, Rawdon and Cookridge were called to Lea Croft in Otley shortly before 7pm on Saturday, June 27.

A man inside the house suffered cuts to his hands and was treated at the sceneby fire service personnel, but he did not require hospital treatment.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service used one hose reel two firefighters in breathing apparatus and a high-powered fan to clear the house of smoke.

The man did have a fire alarm fitted, which went off when the fire started.
