Estate agent sponsors beer and music festival fundraiser

The Guiseley branch of Manning Stainton was the proud headline sponsor of ‘Summerfest’, the first ever Beer and Music Festival organised by Yeadon Cricket Club.A crowd of around 1,000 attended the fundraising event at the club’s High Street ground and enjoyed a packed programme of entertainment including seven local bands and a wide selection of real ales and ciders. Proceeds were shared between the cricket club and Macmillan Cancer Support who took all the profits from the raffle and bucket collections.Club Chairman David Summerscales, says: ‘The weather was kind to us and the event massively exceeded even our most optimistic expectations so we could not be happier. We hope that ‘Summerfest’ will now become an annual date in the diary for the local community.’‘I would like to personally thank all the people who turned out in such large numbers, my colleagues on the committee and club members for their hard work and of course Manning Stainton and other kind hearted local companies for their most generous support.‘The money raised will not only contribute towards the running of the club and maintaining suitable facilities for our three junior and two senior sides but it will also help Macmillan to continue the wonderful work they do.’Page 2 Follows…Pippa Booth, a Sales Negotiator at the Manning Stainton branch on The Green in Guiseley, adds: ‘It was a real pleasure to support the event which had clearly taken a lot of time and effort to organise.‘We are particularly pleased that some of the money raised is going to Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity close to the company’s heart and one we have supported previously through our ‘Mannings for Macmillan’ fundraising initiative. I think it is a wonderful gesture by the cricket club to share the proceeds from the day in this way.’Manning Stainton has donated in excess of £50,000 to over 50 clubs, schools and other worthwhile organisations in the last 12 months through its Community Support Programme.
