Thirteen photos from Leeds retro market as gamers go 8-bit

Gamers gathered in Leeds this morning for a feast of retro electronic entertainment.

The Leeds Gaming Market fair was held at The Royal Armouries and saw thousands of fans flock to the venue.

On show and on sale were gaming-related items including retro computers, consoles, handhelds, artwork, apparel, import games, arcade machines and merchandise.

From Sega, Nintendo to Atari and Amstrad, there was no shortage of interest from shop owners, eBay traders, independent retailers and individuals, buying and selling all game-related goodies.

With interest at a premium, those wishing to attend were advised to book their place well in advance, and it was thought upwards of 2,500 made it through the doors.

A spokesman for Leeds Gaming Market said: “We are pleased to continue to work with our two fantastic sponsors for 2026; we are once again working with retro book publishers Bitmap Books for all our 2026 events.

“We are also continuing our collaboration with Japanese shopping service ZenMarket for our 2026 events and markets.”
