She was named as Leeds Trinity University’s first ever chancellor five years ago.

And today television presenter Gabby Logan celebrated her last graduation in her post before she officially steps down in the new year.

Yorkshire-born Mrs Logan, the daughter of former Leeds United player Terry Yorath, conferred degrees for 150 students and delivered her final address during the university’s winter ceremony.

She said: “It has been an honour to be involved with Leeds Trinity University over the last five years. I have always enjoyed visiting the campus and talking to the students, and have been proud to hold the post as their first chancellor. Even though I will be stepping down from the post I will remain a strong advocate for Leeds Trinity. I strongly believe in the ethos of the university.”
