Documentary explores food poverty in Leeds
The makers of a new documentary film '˜Plates' exploring the growing issues of food wastage and the increase in food poverty have been filming at homelessness charity Emmaus Leeds.
Beyond Productions - creators of the documentary Plates - interviewed staff about how they have been working to reduce wastage, cut food bills by £10,000 and help other groups to tackle food poverty.
Emmaus Leeds, on St Mary’s Street, supports 26 formerly homeless people by providing them with a stable home and meaningful work. The documentary will be finished by spring and screened across Leeds and Yorkshire.
