Police are appealing for witnesses after the rider of a stolen motorbike was injured in a crash in Leeds.

The 23-year-old man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious injuries following the collision yesterday.

He was riding a red Lifan Mirage motorbike which crashed with a silver Volkswagen Golf outside Queenswood Social Club in Headingley at 1pm.

The driver of the Golf, a 46-year-old man, sustained slight injuries. 

It is believed the rider had been travelling with another person on a motorbike at the time of the crash in Queenswood Drive, but that vehicle sped off from the scene. 

The injured man remains in hospital with serious injuries that are not considered life threatening. 

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, who has not already given their details to police, or who has any information that could help the investigation.
