Death of Leeds street sleeper not thought to be suspicious

The death of a homeless man who slept rough in Leeds is not thought to have been caused by a fight.

Rumours had circulated that Alan Campbell, who was often seen in the Dark Arches area near Leeds Station, had passed away on Friday as a result of injuries sustained in a fight.

However, West Yorkshire Police have confirmed that they are not investigating any crime in relation to his death.

Leeds homeless charities that had established relationships with Alan also said they believed his death was due to other causes.

The file has been passed to the coroner.

Another Leeds street sleeper, known as Geordie, is also known to have died in the past week, but no details have been released about the circumstances.
