This event also gives you the opportunity to use a professional telescope and experience their wonderful planetarium. And don’t worry too much about it getting chilly on the evening - the event includes hot chocolates, snacks and toasted marshmallows around a fire.

You don’t need any prior knowledge to enjoy these events to their maximum – simply turn up with some enthusiasm and lots of warm clothes.

The location of the event – Dalby Forest Visitors Centre in the North York Moors National Park – is one of a selection of Dark Sky Discovery Sites in Yorkshire and gives you the opportunity to be able to see the Milky Way on a clear night.

This event is a brilliant way to bring science and nature alive for children and inspire everyone to learn more about the universe around us – and as Yorkshire has some of the darkest skies in the UK why not give astronomy a go.
