Main story. University chiefs were today under mounting pressure to sack a lecturer suspended in a race row. Dr Frank Ellis sparked outrage when he told a student newspaper that he believed black people were intellectually inferior to whites. The former SAS soldier also said feminism and multiculturalism were “corroding” Britain. Yesterday Dr Ellis was suspended on full pay from his post at the University of Leeds, where he teaches Russian and Slavonic studies. The university has also begun disciplinary proceedings against him which could lead to him losing his job.
