But the opening will be delayed by at least three weeks, and likely longer, according to a Wetherspoons spokesman.

A new official opening date is yet to be announced.

JD Wetherspoon faced a long battle with Leeds City Council in its discussions to open the pub, which is in an old doctors surgery.

The pub will have a beer garden with capacity for up to 70 drinkers.
