Officers from North West NPT have stepped up patrols in and around Outwood Park, Wakefield, following concerns from local residents of drug dealing, police said.

PCSO's have been speaking with small groups of youths in the park.

On Tuesday April 27, a youth was arrested for possession of a bladed article and possession of a Class B drug.

Police in Wakefield posted: "PCSO’s Danny and Laura have been speaking with small groups of youths and earlier this week were able to obtain the details of a youth who was believed to be dealing drugs in the park.

"His details have been forwarded to our intelligence department.

"On Tuesday 27th April a youth was arrested in the Park for possession of a bladed article and possession of a Class B drug.

"If you spot any incidents of this nature at Outwood Park or any other location, please report it by ringing the non-emergency number 101. Always ring 999 in an emergency."
