Woman suffers serious injury after being hit by delivery van driver in Leeds

Police are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was hit by a delivery van in Otley.

It happened at the junction of Chippendale Rise and Clearways at about 8pm on Tuesday, November 10.

The 42-year-old woman was hit by the driver of a white Mercedes delivery van.

The woman suffered a serious hand injury which required ongoing hospital treatment.

PC Shane Kenny at the Eastern Area Roads Policing Unit is asking for anyone who witnessed or has information about the collision to contact 101 referencing police log 125 of November 16.

West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision in Otley in which a woman was injured.

“Eastern area roads policing officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or had information about a reported collision between a 42-year-old woman and a delivery van at the junction of Chippendale Rise and Clearways in Otley at about 8pm on Tuesday November 10.

“The woman suffered a serious hand injury which required ongoing hospital treatment.

“The van involved was described as a White Mercedes.

“Anyone who saw the collision the van driving in the area just prior to it, or who has mobile phone footage of what took place, is asked to contact PC Shane Kenny at the Eastern Area Roads Policing Unit on 101 referencing police log 625 of 16 November.”
