Woman 'lucky to be alive' after drunken Leeds partner repeatedly kicked her with steel toe-cap boots
He also bit her nose during savage attack
A drunken thug repeatedly kicked his partner on the floor as she begged him to stop, later saying she feared she would be killed.
Joseph McHugh also bit her to the nose, leaving her needing stitches.
The 34-year-old was handed an eight-year extended jail sentence at Leeds Crown Court this week having already admitted GBH with intent.

The couple had been in a relationship for around 12 years, but over the years McHugh had become increasingly alcohol dependant and prone to violent outbursts, prosecutor Robert Galley told the court.
At one point he attacked her and the police were called. He was bailed she but she eventually dropped the charges.
They reconciled for the sake of the family but in February this year, he became jealous of a brief relationship she had with another man.
His mental health deteriorated and she took pity on him and invited to her home. However, he almost immediately assaulted her.
He began slapping her to the face, then punching her to the head. He then attacked her again, kicking her all over while wearing steel toe-cap boots.
Mr Galley said the woman later told police that she thought he “might never stop” and was screaming at him.
He also bit her on the nose. He later left to buy more alcohol, then returned full of remorse and telling the woman that she if she wanted to tell police, he would not stop her. She later did.
She was taken to hospital with two black eyes and required stitches to her nose where he had sunk his teeth.
McHugh, of Cedar Road, Armley, was arrested and gave a largely no-comment interview to officers. He has previous convictions including affray and possessing a bladed article.
In a victim impact statement, paraphrased to the court by Mr Galley, the woman said he had caused “emotional trauma” and that she was “lucky to be alive”.
Mitigating, Erin Kitson-Parker said McHugh was remorseful and added: “He is devastated for what he has done and will have a pit in his stomach for the rest of his life.
“Alcohol is the catalyst and he is trying to make changes. He is sorry for his wrongdoings.”
Judge Simon Phillips KC said the damage McHugh had inflicted was “horrendous”. He added: “It could have resulted in a loss of life. It was a prolonged and persistent attack against her.”
He handed him a four -year jail term with a four-year extended licence period. He was also given a lifelong restraining order to keep him away from his ex partner.
