Police have issued an appeal after a woman was hit by a reversing car in Leeds on Friday afternoon, leaving her with life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened at about 2.30pm on Shaw Lane in Headingley, at the junction with Grove Lane.

A blue VW Passat reversed when it hit a woman.

The pedestrian, aged in her 80s, suffered life threatening injuries and is currently in hospital in a serious condition.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw the incident including those with dashcam footage.
