Woman hospitalised after being injured by dog bite during run in Harehills park

A woman was hospitalised after being bitten by a dog while running in Harehills park - as police launch an urgent appeal to find the owner.

The woman was jogging through the park with a friend at about 1.50pm on Sunday November 15, 2020.

She ran past a man walking a small white dog, possibly a Staffordshire bull terrier or similar breed, which was on a long white lead.

As she ran past, the dog jumped up at her and bit her leg, causing an injury for which she sought hospital treatment.

The dog owner did enquire after her at the time of the incident but the woman failed to get his details and she later reported the incident, police confirmed.

The man is now being asked to make contact with West Yorkshire Police.

He is described as white, aged 25 to 40, about 5ft 6ins tall, of slim build and with short, brown hair.

He was with two young children, aged about 4 or 5-years-old.
