The charity was started by Leeds woman and mum-of-three Jane Tomlinson after she was diagnosed with incurable breast cancer aged just 36.

It supports children's health and wellbeing and aims to improve the lives of those living with cancer.

Jane's widower Mike Tomlinson said the break in has been "another blow" for the charity during a "tough financial time".

Mike Tomlinson said: “It’s been a tough time of late for the Appeal and Run For All, as it is for everyone, so to find that someone had attempted to break into the office this morning, in broad daylight, was another blow.

"The office is clearly labelled as a charity building so they knew who they were targeting.

"There is no value inside the building to anyone other than ourselves and so a pointless criminal act has caused a significant amount of building damages at what is already a difficult financial time.”

The charity has now released CCTV footage in a bid to help police identify the man.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said that the suspect had his face covered but was described as white male wearing a green jacket and blue jeans.
